A day lasts 24 hours in June, nearly 24 hours in May and July and 20 hours in August. In the summer months temperatures don't go above 10 ° C. If you struggle with summer heat, this is a place to be.

Walk to Sermermiut settlement. [Sermemiut means "The people by the ice". The prehistorical settlement situated about 1,5 hour km from Ilulissat].
IN WINTER:
Dog Sledge Ride. This is an Innuit tradition that goes back 2000 years back in time. If you complained on the freezing cold, upon the end of the ride you will be thrown to the hungry greenlandic dogs so do not forget to put on warm clothes.
Northern Lights also called aurora borealis. The best time to see the dancing Northern Lights in on a dark, clean autumn and winter nights.
WORTH TO NOTE
POPULATION Greenland's 57.000 inhabitants live mostly on the coast. Nuuk the capital, has around 16.500 inhabitants.
CURRENCY In Greenland, the currency is Danish Crown (DKK) Approx. 100 DKK = 13.43 EUR, approx. 1 EUR = 7.44 DKK. Payment by credit and debit card widely accepted or at least have not experienced any issues myself.
HOW TO GET AROUND? Airplanes, boat, foot. Plan layovers smart. Give yourself an extra time and be patient. Flight delays and cancellations are the order of the day. The arctic weather is moody. To get to Ilulissat flew from Copenhagen to Kangerlussuaq and then (50 min flight) to Ilulissat. Book pick up drop off to and from the airport with you hotel. There are available taxis in Ilulissat though [big surprise].

WHAT TO TAKE WITH YOU? Warm hat and gloves, Bug repellant, hiking boots - waterpfroof, comfortable, with high angle support. Footfwear is of the utmost importance in Greenland. Camera, Powerbank.
