It is said that Greenland got its name from Erick the Red – who was exiled from Iceland as a punishment for the committed murders. He searched for a land where he could settle and he found it. He called it “Greenland” and painted as a wonderful lush place in the hope that it would attract some more settlers.

Many come to Sardinia to bask in the warmth of the Mediterranean sun, splash about in the deep turquoise waters and leave the island adorned with natural rouges and browns. Even Italians immodestly admit that the snow-white beaches in Sardinia are of the most gorgeous and some kind of special.
It is a place like this where you feel the aristocratic old days romance. It is in the Lombardy’s seductively beautiful lake district where miles of cobalt-blue waters are meeting snow-capped Alps, hills of conifers, cutest villages you can imagine, lined with elegant 19th century neoclassical villas and glorious gardens. It is a good place to take a break and absorb in the heaven-sent beauty of nature, tear up the itinerary, savour the lakeside cappuccino or aperitivo and simply unwind.
France has an unbeatable reputation when it comes to l’amour. We call Paris, the city of love and unarguably the love is in the air, not the purest and sweetest of its form though. When you look beneath its surface, it is kinky, smelly and full of grit.
Despite the passage of time, the scars of the past have not been healed. Bosnia & Herzegovina (BiH) is still riddled with bullet holes and painful memories of the bloody and violent domestic conflict of 1992-95. But Bosnian warm hearts are beating strong. Strolling through St. Mark’s Square in a chilly February morning, is like stepping back in a time and suddenly becoming a spectator in the fairy tale open theatre show of multiple acts, constantly changing scenes, actors, actresses, with just a tiny difference - there is no screenplay, no director, only brilliant improvisation.

Thrilling scuba diving, dizzying limestone cliffs, gin-clear water, red-gold beaches, and majestic prehistoric sites. This little island called Malta in the Mediterranean Sea covers the area of only 316 km2 (122 sq. mi) and it is where Paul, St. Paul in the Bible in Acts 28 shipwrecked on it shores. Is located off the cost of Sicily and with its neighbouring sister islands - Gozo & Comino makes it a truly magical place to spend a shorter or longer while and the best part is (almost) nobody has heard of it.
The volcanic island of Lanzarote offers an absolutely intriguing contrast in the scenery. You can find here beautiful sandy beaches, dramatic infinite black lava fields sown sparsely with low-stone-walled vineyards, low-key towns and villages, and a lot of fascinating sights and creations, mainly the legacy of its most prominent artist, architect and environmentalist - César Manrique. In fact the whole Lanzarote seems like a joint art project of César Manrique and the Mother Nature created after the magical rum infused night, a couple of primo smoked cigars and long conversations.
If you ask me to point the capital of Philippines on the colour scale, Manila represent all shades of grey. For many unaware tourists and travellers, Manila is a fairly strange reality to be faced with. The life in the tropics, pearly white sand, the chill out vibe and endless turquoise water. Unfortunately, none can be found in Manila. But Manila was once so beautiful, that it was once known as “the Pearl of the Orient.” WWII changed everything…
In Lapland, there is white and fluffy stuff on the ground for approximately six months of the year. There are snow castles with slides, igloo hotels, ice bars, ice restaurants and ice chapels and 200 000 reindeers and a bonus - the man impersonating a Father Christmas/Santa Claus in the company of a few short people who called themselves elves. Do not get me wrong, there are all nice guys, they smile a lot and run a little business over the Arctic Circle.
Kraków (Cracow) might no longer be an official capital of Poland, but this royal city teems with treasures and remains the historic and cultural centre of the country. Kraków is full of surprises and epic tales about a poor shoe-maker slaying a dragon, the witty alchemist (Mr. Twardowski) riding around the town on giant cockerel, a devil lurking in the city’s warren of cellars or the hobby horse(Lajkonik) which became a symbol of Kraków. Every part of the city is fascinating.
Ho, ho, ho… It is the most wonderful time of the year and in Strasbourg a quaint town located in the Alsace region of France you can feel the true magic of Christmas as nowhere else. Here, every year the city continues its tradition and opens the oldest and largest Christmas market in Europe.
It might be hard to believe but Versailles has not always looked the same as today. It was actually once a very filthy and stinky place where everyone tossed the poo pots from the windows, people urinated wherever they could, and perfumes were used to hide the smells or rather the unbearable odor.
We love this city. San Francisco is a rush of flavours, history, innovation and alternative culture. With its vibrant food scene, contagious energy, openneness, myriad steeply hills, enchanting bay, stunning pastel hued Victorian architecture, and its iconic, misty Golden Gate Bridge, this is a city you just do not simply go sightseeing to, you soak into it.
There will be horrifying crowds, unimaginable long lines, fussy and screaming children and over-priced everything but there will a lot of fun too. The Universal Studios Hollywood guarantees some serious thrill for all despite the age. After all, t is called the “the entertainment capital of LA” for a reason.
With its picturesque riverside, cobblestone lanes, magnificent Gothic cathedral, and plentiful of green space and atmospheric little restaurants, cafés and bars which at the dusk, fill to the brim, it is impossible to question the omnipresent magic of this place. You can feel the beating heart of France in Metz more than anywhere else.
In the heart of the famous Bordeaux wine arae, there is a little charming medieval town filled with wine shops. The name of this town is Saint Emilion and there are approx. 70 wine shops and 270 houses here. That is quite an interesting ratio, don’t you think?
There is only 3 km between the isle of Sicily and the mainland Italy but Sicily is nowhere near to the rest of the country. There are no well-maintained tourist attractions, no pristine streets here. Instead there is an exquisite cuisine, scorching sun, lively and chaotic street markets and people distinctly more relaxed than in any other part of Italy. There is something a bit raw, at times murky but so real and seductively beautiful that the only option you are given to is to succumb to its charms.
